On Saturday 26th April, Gonalston Farm Shop will be supporting Malcolm, a member of our team and a student at Nottingham Trent University, in his quest to raise funds for a research expedition to South Africa as part of his Wildlife Conservation Degree. He will be involved in monitoring the movements, activities and habits of cheetahs recently reintroduced to the area.
There will be tastings of biltong and boerewors sausage, raffles (prizes include a Ford Ka) and wildlife prints for sale.
Operation Wallacea is a conservation organisation running projects around the world, including South Africa. It is dedicated to the conservation of rainforests and coral reefs and the preservation of cultural heritage. Established in 1995, Operation Wallacea has already met with significant success. In collaboration with scientists (who are leading experts in fields of marine biology, tropical biology and ecology, zoology and anthropology) and volunteers, a fruitful partnership has been forged with the local community.
Malcolm is being given a unique opportunity to take part in this experience of a lifetime whist undertaking vital conservation work for Operation Wallacea and the local community.
